초록/요약
정신건강 영역을 주도하고 있는 회복 관점에서, 취업 경험은 정신장애인의 회복에 중요한 의미가 있다. 본 연구의 목적은 취업 중인 정신장애인의 회복 경험을 탐색하는 것으로, 이를 위하여 개념도 연구를 활용하였다. 연구 방법은 다음과 같다. 먼저 준비단계에서는 초점 질문을 개발하고 연구 참여자를 선정하였다. 두 번째, 아이디어 산출 단계에서는 회복 경험을 살펴보기 위하여 연구 참여자인 취업 유지 중인 정신장애인 12명과 심층 면접하였고, 진술문 통합 과정을 거쳐 82개의 최종 진술문을 도출하였다. 세 번째 진술문 구조화 단계에서는, 심층 면접에 참여한 연구 참여자가 최종 진술문에 대한 유사성 분류와 중요도 평정을 시행하였다. 네 번째 개념도 분석 단계에서는, 82개의 최종진술문에 관한 연구 참여자의 유사성 분류를 바탕으로 다차원척도 분석과 계층적 군집분석을 실시하였다. 이러한 과정을 통해 취업 유지 중인 정신장애인의 회복 경험에 관한 개념도를 최종적으로 도출하였다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 취업 유지 중인 정신장애인의 회복 경험은 82개의 최종진술문으로 정리되었다. 차원의 수는 총 2개로, ‘개인적-사회적’ 차원과 ‘기능적-인식적’ 차원으로 명명되었다. 군집 분석의 결과, 7개의 군집으로 분석되었다. 취업 유지 중인 정신장애인의 회복 경험에 관한 군집은 각각 ‘사회적 관계의 성장’(군집 1), ‘주체적인 경제 활동’(군집 2), ‘자기돌봄 능력의 강화’(군집 3), ‘정신과적 증상 감소’(군집 4), ‘내면의 힘 발견’(군집 5), ‘지지와 옹호’(군집 6), ‘타인에 대한 이해’(군집 7)로 명명되었다. 최종진술문의 내용별 중요도는 평균 4.05점으로 모든 문항이 3점 (보통이다) 이상으로 평정되었다. 또한 군집별 중요도 평정은 ‘내면의 힘 발견’(군집 5)과 ‘주체적인 경제 활동’(군집 2)이 평균 4.17점으로 가장 높은 것으로 나타났다. 이를 바탕으로, 정신장애인을 위한 이론적․실천적․정책적 함의를 논의하였다. 마지막으로 연구의 한계를 제시하여 후속 연구를 위해 제언하였다.

Considering the recovery paradigm, a guiding vision in the mental health field, the employment-related experiences had a significant role in promoting the recovery of the people with mental illness. The purpose of this study is to investigate the recovery experiences of employed people with mental illness by using Concept Mapping. The research method is as follows. First, in preparation, focus questions were developed and research participants were selected through preliminary research. Second, in generating the ideas, in order to explore the details of the recovery experiences, individual in-depth interviews were conducted for 12 employed people with mental illness, and 82 statements were derived through the statement integration process. Third, in structure the statement, similarity classification and importance evaluation were conducted by 12 individuals who participated in the individual in-depth interviews. Next, in analysis of maps, Multidimensional scaling (MDS) and hierarchical cluster analysis were conducted based on the participant’s sorting of 82 final sentences. Finally, the conceptual map of the recovery experiences of employed people with mental illness was finally confirmed. The research results are as follows. The recovery experiences of employed people with mental illness were summarized in the final 82 statements. The dimensional analysis of statements was named in two dimensions: ‘personal – social’ and ‘functional – cognitive’. As a result of cluster analysis, 7 clusters were discovered. Based on the experiences of employed people with mental illness, the cluster of the recovery experiences was organized into ‘development of social relationships’ (group 1), ‘independent economic activity’ (group 2), ‘empowering self-care ability’ (group 3), ‘decreasing psychiatric symptoms’ (group 4), ‘finding inner strength’ (group 5), ‘support and advocacy’ (group 6) and ‘understanding others’ (group 7). The significance ratings of each statement on the recovery experiences showed that all of them were assessed with more 3 points (normal), and the average of significance for all 82 statements was 4.05. Further examination of relative significance between clusters revealed that ‘finding inner strength’ (group 5) and ‘independent economic activity’ (group 2) got the highest rating(M = 4.17). Based on the findings, practical and political implications were discussed for people with mental illness. Finally, limitations of the study were suggested and further research directions were discussed.
