초록/요약
과학을 가르치는 교사들은 종종 혼란을 겪는다. 과학교과서 속의 지배적인 세계관인 진화론이 자연계에는 어떠한 의도와 목적이 없이 오직 생존경쟁에서 살아남기 위한 생물들의 지난한 적응과정만 있을 뿐이라고 외치고 있기 때문이다. 진화론의 메시지는 150여 년간 교육을 포함한 사회 전반에 침투하여 역사와 사람들에게 상처를 주었다. 이러한 진화론은 인류에 이타적 공헌을 꿈꾸며 바람직한 신념을 가진 도덕적인 민주시민을 길러내고자 하는 교사의 의도와 정면충돌한다. 오랫동안 문제를 외면하고 대안을 세우지 못한 결과 우리 교육의 현장은 말 그대로 생존경쟁의 정글이 되었고 내버려둔 자연선택의 참담한 결과를 목도하고 있다. 이제 우리는 과학을 교육함에 있어서 세계관에 대한 분명한 이해가 필요하며 자연과 생명 현상을 설명할 바람직하고 통합적인 세계관이 필요하다. 이에 본 연구는 초등과학교육에서 기독교세계관을 바탕으로 식물의 기원과 구조를 밝히고자 하였으며 최근 등장한 지적설계론의 관점으로 식물의 구조 단원을 재구성하여 수업자료를 개발하였다. 구체적으로 진화론에서 주장하는 식물의 기원과 진화의 근거들을 분석하여 기독교적 관점으로 비판하였으며, 교과서와 지도서에 드러난 진화론적 내용과 기술들을 분석하여 교사들로 하여금 쉽게 분별할 수 있도록 하였다. 또한 식물의 뿌리, 줄기, 잎, 증산작용, 광합성, 광수용체, 화석 등에 대해 지적 설계의 증거들을 찾아보고 이를 기독교적 세계관으로 해석하였다. 이를 바탕으로 수업에 활용할 수 있도록 6차시 분량의 수업지도안을 개발하고 충분한 자료를 첨부하였다. 현행 교과서의 식물 단원들이 호기심을 이끌어내지 못하고 암기 위주의 단원으로 이해되고 있는 현실을 개선하고자 흥미 있는 미디어 자료, 최근의 식물연구, 과학사의 내용을 추가하였다. 기존의 연구들에 비해 식물을 지적설계론으로 접근하는 것은 새로운 도전이며, 식물이 생태계에서 차지하는 비중이 거의 절대적이라고 볼 때 앞으로 식물에 대한 연구와 교재의 개발은 중요한 작업임에 틀림없다. 이 연구가 현장에 활용되어 기독교적 대안을 찾는 교사들에게 설계론적 각성을 일으키고 학생들에게는 올바른 세계관을 갖는 계기가 될 수 있기를 바란다. 또한 이 연구를 바탕으로 식물에 대한 교육적 연구가 계속 발전해 가길 기대한다.

Not a few science teachers feel frustrated because the evolution theory which is dominant in science education claims that all organisms exist only by the law of survival of the fittest in nature world even if it is not true. The theory of evolution has had harmful effects on education and other society for more than 150 years. It means that the educational field influenced by the theory of evolution has become like a jungle which is struggle for existence. This theory confronts and frustrates a lot of the teachers who wants to educate students to be helpful and sacrificed citizens in this society. In this terrible educational situation, it is necessary for science teachers to understand the worldview behind the evolution theory and to find out the truthful and integrated worldview to the nature and the organism. This thesis researches the origin and structure of plants with a Christian worldview in elementary science education, and restructure the units of plant structure from a perspective of the Intelligent Design as well as make resources for classroom. It means that it criticizes the origin of plant and evidence of evolution claimed by the theory of evolution from a Christian worldview. In addition, it analyzes evolutional content and explanation in science textbook for science teachers to be able to distinguish what is right or wrong. It researches the evidence of the Intelligent Design in nature world, such as root, stem, leaf, transpiration, photoreceptor, and fossils of plant and reinterprets them from a Christian worldview. Classroom resources are attached for science teachers to be able to use it for their 6 units of length lesson plans. Since the current textbook for the plant units do not arouse the students curiosity, it attaches some interesting media material, recent research for plant, and history of science for plant. It is a challenge to the plant unit in science education to approach with the Intelligent Design comparing with other approaches. When it comes to know that the plant unit is important enough in science education, it is really significantly meaningful to research and make resources for plant. This research will be helpful for the science teachers who want to find alternative ways against the theory of evolution and for students to have the right and balanced viewpoint to ecosystem through plant research with the Intelligent Design. I hope that the research of ecosystem from a perspective of the Intelligent Design will be continued based on this thesis.
